Do you ever wonder why 70% of California state community college students drop out without graduating?
Why 85% of Christian students attending public high school walk away from the faith by the time they graduate high school?
Or why the average public school graduate now reads at the 7th grade level, the lowest functional literacy rate in 30 years?
American public education is unequally yoked.
Falsely aligned.
Errantly allegianced.
Severed from the foundations of truth.
Education has fallen from its original foundations of faith and family, of parent-directed, church-supported academia.
As I travel the nation and speak, I see the fallout.
The beta males and warrior women
The anxiety and depression and suicide ideation rates
The maternal misattachment: Parents' hearts captivated by lesser gods
The dramatic decline in marriage & family: Down from 96 to 47%, the lowest rate in history, and now the total fertility rate, TFR, has followed suit at 1.6.
The sobering rise in artificial attachment: 70% of GenZs have a relational (not just informational) bond with a chatbot, which some have described as a feeling “of being known, heard, validated and unconditional loved.
Something is wrong. Very wrong.
As believers, when we see destruction and dysfunction in the culture, it is our obligation, our moral mandate to step in, to rescue those who are staggering toward the slaughter. And nowhere is the need greater today than the 50 million students held captive by godless government schools.
Public education was once a supporter of Christian values. Teachers echoed what was taught in the home. Even rebellion was innocent by comparison: The most troubled kids’ in my grandmothers’ class dared to cut in line and chew gum.
Today’s troubled kids cut their bodies and shoot their classmates.
Education is formation.
When moms bring me their cold, icy-hearted 18 year olds asking me to help, I know they’ve missed critical windows of development for attachment, for worldview.
And as a church, many of us have missed the opportunity to disciple a generation. We have stepped back and watched the Great Commission outlawed on our watch, children hindered from coming to the Lord, entire institutions leading children astray.
Jesus said it shouldn’t be so. Death by millstone was the consequence.
It’s time to stop sending a royal priesthood, a chosen generation, into daily discipleship with a pagan school system. If we don’t lead our kids to freedom, someone else will lead them into captivity.
The agenda is clear: America’s K to 12 students are being discipled in anti-christian, anti-family, even anti-American doctrines. They are trained up to hate God, themselves, and our country.
Pastors, what if you could change the culture of education for your congregation?
If you have a church building with at least one room, a heart to influence your city, and a trusted leader we can coach, we can help.
It's time to rescue your congregation. Your community. Our nation.
The church and the family are the power duo, the antidote to this social crisis. Pastors and parents partnering together can and will shift the culture.
As a lifelong homeschooling parent and a veteran educator with 20 years of experience in the college classroom, I help churches build individually tailored academic models that help meet the distinct needs of their local community. We coach your team, provide all the paperwork, help you hire teachers, and launch you out to shift the culture for the Kingdom.
Because education is formation.
On your seat, you have an overview of our work from preschool to college, what I’ve started at Skyline Church, at Creative Church, at Calvary Santee, at Harvest Church, at Awaken Church, at Allegiant Academy. And I have complementary copies of my latest book Outsourced here for anyone in this room who wants to be part of the rescue mission in your community.
Our college program is Bible-based, debt-free Chula Vista Christian University, which represents 31 churches in our students and faculty. We promote excellence in education without an insecure obsession to prove ourselves in the temporal, soulless standards of the world.
The agency, the efficacy, of the local church is unparalleled! Churches have space. Mentors. Leaders. And a sovereign call to disciple the nations. Imagine the impact when education is restored to house of God.
Imagine the change in your community when students are spiritually discipled by their parents. We will see atheism shrivel, divorce rates dissipate, identity and purpose rise: a Great Awakening, a Great Revival, the next Baby Boom.
Churches will be stronger because families will be stronger.
If just 75% of California’s churches would open their doors to 260 students today, we would shut down California’s toxic school system tomorrow.
Opening your church to the next generation means you have an unprecedented opportunity to disciple not just kids but also their parents. Two generations at once.
That’s an ROI like no other.
It’s time to reclaim the moral authority of the church and restore the voice of the parent through systematic reform of the modern scholastic model.
Let’s open our hearts.
Let’s open our doors.
Let's make America smart again.
