Prof. Jim O'Connor

Professor O'Connor began his career in Private Equity, buying and selling land, apartments, storage units. In his early 30's, he moved into money management and became president and owner of one of the largest private money management firms in Phoenix, AZ. He was subsequently acquired by Zions Bancorp in 2006 to manage client wealth for all 7 of their affiliates including California Bank and Trust.

He holds a BA from SDSU in Psychology and MBA, MIM from Thunderbird, Global School of International Management. After his non-compete clause expired, he left Zions and partnered with Fidelity Investments. Since then, he has founded a boutique Investment Advisory Firm with offices in Coronado & Scottsdale.

Professor O'Connor enjoys teaching and speaking in the Pathfinder Apprenticeship program at Awaken Church, where he and his wife Kelly serve in a variety of leadership roles.
