Prof. Eric Gonzales

Professor Eric is married and has two boys. He is a 23 year retired Navy veteran. During his retirement, he challenged himself in attending college, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Political Science and his Master's degree in Public Policy. Professor Eric is also a well-known podcast creator of the internationally listened to show, The American Veteran, Made Right.

He has volunteered in the community: was a member of the PTA at the local and county level serving as President, Executive Vice President; served on school site/district parent advisory committees as Chairman, 1st Vice Chair, that ensured the spending of Title 1 funding; member of the LCAP/LCFF implementation committee, ensuring the budgetary outcomes matched the plan of expenditures.

Professor Eric made the decision in continuing his service to community by running for public elected office in 2020 for a seat on the San Diego Unified School District School Board and then in 2022 for California’s 78th Assembly District seat.
