Monique is a Certified Public Accountant and internal compliance director for the YMCA. Prior to her current position, she served as an advisory manager overseeing, planning, and performing internal control audits and risk assessments in order to identify, implement, and test key controls that mitigate financial statements and operational risks. Monique holds a Master's degree in accounting degree from San Diego State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in business from Tillburg University. Monique is excited to partner with CVCU to provide expertise in internal audit and compliance, processes, procedures, and controls in terms of financial impact, segregation of duties, and prevention of financial misstatements. Monique and her husband, Erwin, a local high school football coach, have two sons who help them run the junior high ministry at Awaken Church.
Kyle was born and raised in East County, where he attended local schools and was active in both extracurricular activities and his home church, Skyline, all the way through college. Kyle recently graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Point Loma Nazarene University, and he is passionate about learning from the past as well as leading others to do the same. As a senior in college, he ran for office, and he currently serves as secretary of the Valle de Oro Community Planning Group. As one of the youngest elected officials in San Diego County, Kyle hopes to inspire others to be civically engaged and to take steps to become courageous and just leaders in their realm of influence.
Audra has served as a homeschool community leader and homeschool educator for over 15 years. Her youngest son is now a freshman in college, and her oldest son has earned a prestigious full-ride graduate school scholarship at Hillsdale College, where he is currently working toward his Master's degree in Political Science. Audra has been married to her husband Rob, a Battalion Chief for the Chula Vista Fire Department, for the last 25 years. Audra understands the process of navigating the transition from the homeschool environment to the college classroom, and she is well-versed in CVCU's educational methodology from both the parent and the student perspectives.
Shannon is a native San Diegan and has worked in the public school system as a teacher since 1996. She also worked as an educational consultant, coach, and mentor for 17 years for school districts all over California. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies from San Diego State with an emphasis in Language Arts and Elementary Education. Shannon is passionate about furthering God’s Kingdom by integrating faith and learning. Her background in public education gives her a unique perspective on how to transition from public schools into the private sector of education. Shannon and her husband, Gil, have been married for 20 years and have 3 children. Their boy/girl twins just graduated high school and will commence college in the Fall. Their youngest son is in 8th grade.
